Recipe Wednesday: Jess’s Pesto

Our latest recipe is from Jessica, our director of sales and marketing:

I grabbed a bunch of Central Greens basil over the weekend and made some pesto. It was even given the stamp of approval by my Italian/Sicilian boyfriend! Here’s the quick and easy recipe to make it for yourself.


  • 3 cups packed fresh Central Greens basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup lightly toasted pine nuts (You can substitute walnuts if needed)
  • 1/3 extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 – 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/3 cup Italian cheese blend (Parmesan, Asiago & Romano)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Red Pepper (to taste)


Put all the ingredients in a food processor and mince until you have a fairly smooth, creamy texture. I love spicy foods so I was pretty liberal with the black and red pepper to give the pesto an extra kick.
